"For me, the chance to work with the College of the North Atlantic in Qatar has been a wonderful opportunity both personally and professionally. Professionally, we have an excellent staff who work well together to meet the needs of the students. I enjoy teaching the students, not only English but also we are able to give them a lot of world knowledge. Personally, we have an excellent lifestyle in Doha as well as many opportunities for travel in the region. "

"Working at CNA-Q has provided me with an opportunity to explore another culture while gaining valuable professional experience in an international setting. Since starting work at CNA-Q I have met many wonderful people who will be friends for life, I have traveled to 7 different countries and I have learned more about myself and the world then I ever thought possible! What an adventure!"

"Lona and I left Newfoundland and Labrador to begin work in a new exciting place that would enable us to “ travel the world!”...sort of a working vacation! College of the North Atlantic –Qatar has given us that and more. Working conditions are excellent with low pupil-teacher ratio, 60-66% student contact time, great teaching resources and plenty of professional development opportunities including paid training and funded workshops. The 3 bedroom villas are very comfortable and since they are arranged like a small village we enjoy a great community feeling where we have easy access to time with our many new friends. With our girls finished university we can now take our very generous pay and “ go on safari in Kenya”, “ tour the wonders of Egypt” and additionally we can stop-over on the way home and get free travel to places like Rome, Paris and Zurich! CNA-Qatar and Qatar give us more than even we thought we could find…and we expected a lot!"

"This is a really exciting time to be living and working in Qatar. There are exciting changes occurring to education, to health, and to the overall country. It is wonderful being a part of it. On another note, the travel opportunities from Qatar are fantastic. I've visited 7 countries since I moved her a year ago...from boat rides in Thailand, to a safari in Kenya, to the beaches in Maldives, and the list goes on."

"My name is Stephen Warren and I joined the CNA-Qatar team in September 2004. Since September I have had the chance to indulge myself in a new culture and learn and see so many exciting things. Doha is a beautiful city that has so much to offer in terms of professional and personal development. If you are an individual who is eager to explore great life experiences, be a member of a wonderful working atmosphere, and don't mind summer weather for 365 days a year.....you belong in Qatar."

"Hello, my name is Andrea Lynn Comeau. I came to CNA-Q in Doha directly after finishing a two year contract in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This is my sixth year teaching overseas, my fourth year in the Gulf region and I am thoroughly enjoying my time here, both personally and professionally. My instructor's job at the college has given me many opportunities to use my English teaching skills as well as my organizational abilities and provided me with opportunities to pursue my interest in educational technology. The college has grown exponentially in the two years that I have been here and recruitment has brought some very qualified and interesting people from all over Canada. Not a day goes by that I don't laugh out loud with my colleagues about life in Qatar and other work-related issues. Personally, the travel from this region is what keeps me interested in continuing at the college, besides the professional experience that I am enjoying. I have travelled throughout Asia, Europe and the Gulf. I have met many new friends outside the college that will be friends for life. I have enjoyed attending professional development opportunities outside the college as well, and am looking forward to presenting at a conference in Dubai next month which is an excellent opportunity to exchange information with my peers and meet new potential contacts for future employment or professional development. This life is not for everyone but if you are adventurous, flexible and fun-loving, it can be a great career opportunity that you will have as a fond memory for years to come! Cheers, see you in the sand ..."

"I have been in Qatar for nearly three years and enjoy it here very much. I came here with the college on a three year contract and find myself now at the end of my three years wanting to stay longer. I have found that I love the lifestyle here in the gulf especially the sun and the lack of snow is a real bonus!! I have had the opportunity to do some traveling to places that I never thought I would ever have the opportunity to go such as Egypt, Sri Lanka, Africa on safari and other places in the region. I have found the students and the Qatari people very warm and open and feel very much at home here. I would certainly recommend Qatar to anyone interested in an overseas experience to give it a try and I think you will like it as much as I do."
Sincerely

"Qatar is an exciting place to work and live. Working at CNA-Q has been a very rewarding experience and has given me the opportunity to experience another culture. I enjoy the personal service that I get by being a member of a club or visiting one of the hotels. Messages, facials........whatever you wish. The service is excellent, very affordable and a must do while being a resident here. Also, living in the Middle East gives you access to travel to many countries that you would not consider if living in NL.......Africa, Thailand, Sri Lanka, etc. These are livelong experience that will last long after your work overseas is completed."

"Living in the compound is excellent for children. All the children play together and we know all the neighbors because we work with them. Very much like growing up in a small community."
