Placentia launches Alumni Chapter May 4, 2006 Congratulations to Placentia Campus who hosted a successful launch of its Alumni Chapter on May 4. Thank you to everyone involved. The group of approximately fifty alumni from College of the North Atlantic (and its predecessor institutions), heard from Board of Governors Member Roy Bennett, Campus Administrator Darrell Clarke, and two alumni guest speakers: Gerald O’Reilly (alumnus and retired campus administrator) and Jane Hynes (Business Administration 2005) who both conveyed the importance and value of an organization like the alumni association for graduates and for the college.
College of the North Atlantic opened its Office of Alumni and Advancement in January 2004. Part of its mandate is to help build and support a College of the North Atlantic Alumni Association. The current goals include launching chapters in each community where we have a CNA campus with all chapters launched and active by September 2007. Each chapter will work within their respective communities and as a collective group to participate in the life of the college, to provide professional development opportunities and networking and social events for alumni. To date we have the following chapters launched: St. John’s

Corner Brook launches Alumni Chapter
March 28, 2006 Graduates, staff and students of Corner Brook campus, College of the North Atlantic (CNA), gathered at the campus on March 28, 2006 to mark the launch of a local chapter of the college’s Alumni Association. CNA has always maintained ties with many of its graduates; the establishment of the association will extend this contact to many more, initiating a number of activities and services throughout the province. “We now have an alumni association that can provide you with a wide range of services and benefits, such as a free subscription to our alumni e-newsletter, support for class reunions and alumni chapter activities, career development, continuing education opportunities and more,” said Laura Edwards, Manager of Alumni and College Advancement. The association will also provide opportunities for alumni to support current students of the college through guest lectures, work term placements and mentorships, she suggested. “We are proud of the success of our alumni, and their example allows current students to see how training at College of the North Atlantic can contribute greatly to their career success as well,” said Edwards.
Thank you to everyone involved in the successful launch of the Corner Brook chapter.
