I started my career in the Canadian Air Force working in Air Traffic Control and Search and Rescue. After serving five years in the military, I returned home to start a Strawberry farm in my hometown of Stephenville NL and operated a U-Pick operation for five years.
Between 1990 and 2000 I worked as a Marketing Manager at the Stephenville International Airport CYJT. In this job I traveled extensively in the United States and Europe working with Consulates and Aviation Associations, primarily targeting the Executive Jet Markets. In 2000 I accepted a political appointed position with the Newfoundland Government as an Executive Assistant to a Minister of the Crown.
Currently I enjoy my position in faculty working with the College of the North Atlantic after completing my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2005.
I enjoy our pristine province and all it has to offer. I am an avid hunter of our Moose and Caribou. I enjoy hiking, salmon fishing cutting fire wood and spending time on my farm.
I have a great Moose call and am certified to score Antlers for Boone and Crockett.
I’m married to Joanne and have a daughter Jennifer and a son Stephen. My various careers avail me the experience to tie in the educational components of our course offerings with experiential learning.
My name is Lori MacIsaac and I have been teaching in the Business Department at the Bay St. George campus of College of the North Atlantic for the past two years. I have a Business Degree from Acadia University and a Project Management Certificate from Aurora College. Before I arrived at CNA I spent five years in a small fly-in community in the Northwest Territories working for the territorial government in Economic Development. Stephenville is my home and my family and I are happy to be back on the rock.
When I am not busy working I enjoy spending time with my husband Sheldon, four year old daughter Emma and 10 month old son Ryan. After spending five years north of 60º you can safely assume that I enjoy many winter activities including snowshoeing and snowmobiling. When summer rolls around you can find me working in my vegetable garden, enjoying the warm sunshine or taking a nice nap in my hammock.

Reading a great book or going for a long ride on my bike makes for a very enjoyable day for me. I ride my bike as often as possible and my season lasts as long as the weather permits. I compete in several races each summer with the goal being just to finish the race and the hope being to improve my personal best times each year. A gathering with food, music, family and friends makes for a great evening for me.
I moved to Stephenville with my family as a young girl and am very proud to call Stephenville my home. For seventeen years I worked in the airline industry in various capacities. Prior to beginning a new career in Post Secondary Education, and while completing my own education, I worked for Canada Post for three years delivering mail. I am a tutor with the Laubach Literacy Council and for the past ten years have been a board member with the Kindale Library Board. I also volunteer at the Breakfast Programs in our local schools. These activities and interests are very important and rewarding to me and are what I consider instrumental in helping make our community a better place to live.
I am very proud to say that I am a graduate of our Business Administration Program. My return to school and my experiences has made me into a lifelong learner. I have a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Cape Breton University, a Master’s of Business Administration Degree from California Coast University. Recently I graduated from Memorial University with my Education Degree (Post-Secondary) In addition; I also have a Diploma in Community Studies and Project Management as well as a Business Diploma-Accounting.
My academic interests vary, with special interest in economics, math and statistics. I look forward to talking with you to discuss your interests, our program and to assist you in any way I can in your educational or career pursuits.

Hello & thanks for stopping by, I hope the time you spend visiting will be an opportunity for you to explore education and career options and give myself or our department the chance to explore these experiences with you.
In the spring and summer you can find me on one of my favorite salmon rivers, with my preference being at my lodge on Castors River on the Northern Peninsula ( Western Newfoundland has some of the finest salmon fishing rivers in the world). When the winter comes I enjoy snowmobiling and the solitude of the mountainous outdoors of Newfoundland. My other interests and tastes are somewhat varied and eclectic and between seasons and throughout the year I take pleasure in cooking for family and friends and keeping busy with other recreational activities. I enjoy playing hockey and basketball and since my return to Stephenville have been involved in the Stephenville High School Basketball Program. The opportunity to have a positive influence on young men and instill in them the importance of team work and commitment is my motivation and goal.
After having resided in Stephenville for a brief time in the early 1980’s, I was very happy to move back in the spring of 2003 with my wife and two sons. After a stimulating and adventurous stint out west, and upon graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce, I returned to Grand Falls-Windsor where I settled in for the next 15 years. I also possess diplomas in electronics and industrial instrumentation and most recently completed the Certified Financial Planners Program. Currently I am working towards my Masters of Business Administration degree. My work experience is varied and is mostly in consulting to small and medium size businesses. I just finished a term on the Bay St George Chamber of Commerce and currently sit on two advisory boards.
I have been a Business Instructor at the College of the North Atlantic for the past 15 years. I began my career in with the College in Grand Falls-Windsor and currently I am the Instructional Coordinator at the LA Bown Building in Stephenville as well as a Business Instructor. I enjoy the everyday challenges of my job, the interaction with the students and my co-workers and the opportunity to assist others in their academic pursuits.
