The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Happy Valley-Goose Bay Branch recently presented a Pocketalker Pro to Disability Services College of the North Atlantic’s Happy Valley-Goose Bay campus.

The Pocketalker Pro is a versatile, high-quality assistive listening device designed to improve communications in difficult listening situations.

Simply plug in your earpiece, position the microphone near the preferred sound, adjust volume to the user’s comfort and start listening.  It can be used by students with hearing impairments to improve listening on a one-to-one basis and in small group situations, ultimately leading to a better and more effective learning experience.

“Disability Services is extremely grateful to the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Happy Valley-Goose Bay Branch, for this meaningful donation. Although we have different types of assistive technology at the campus, we did not have a Pocketalker Pro,” said BettyAnn Knight-Brake, coordinator of Disability Services for Happy Valley-Goose Bay campus.

“Now we can promote the use of this device to those who have hearing impairments since it can benefit students greatly by improving their listening on a one-to-one basis and in small group settings, ultimately leading to a better and more successful learning experience. We are thrilled with that prospect!”
