ST. JOHN’S, NL – College of the North Atlantic (CNA) was made aware of a social media threat pertaining to its Prince Philip Drive campus this morning, and immediately implemented its lockdown safety procedures as per the college’s Emergency Response protocol.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) was contacted, and upon arrival, officers took command of the situation. The lockdown was in place for approximately one hour.

Once the RNC determined there was no information to suggest there was a risk to the staff, students and the campus’s surroundings, the lockdown was lifted.

The campus was then closed and will remain closed until Monday, October 1.

The RNC investigation is ongoing.
