College of the North Atlantic’s (CNA) Office of Contract Training and Continuing Education (CT/CE) has been recognized as a leader in corporate training activities.

The first annual Top Workforce Development Providers list was compiled by TrainingIndustry.com, an online and print-based business which spotlights the latest news, articles, case studies and best practices within the training industry. Their presence includes a print-based magazine, blogs and articles involving workforce development, contract training and continuing education.

Selection of the Top Workforce Development Providers list was based on the capability to deliver vocational training for those entering the workforce; commitment to the corporate training market; industry visibility, innovation and impact; number and strength of clients; and geographic reach.

“The college has always been very proud of its ability to deliver customized workplace training and continuing education programming to a diverse clientele,” said CNA’s Chair of CT/CE, Joanne O’Leary. “Being recognized as a top workforce development provider based on Training Industry’s criteria confirms what I already know -- that we have such a strong team and the expertise to continue to meet the needs of our clients in the field of workforce development.  That is so important given the current labour market demands employers are facing in Newfoundland and Labrador.”

Other companies and community colleges that were named to the Top Workforce Development Providers list include Cuyahoga Community College; Wilson Learning; Raytheon Professional Services LLC; BioNetwork; BlueVolt; Skillsoft; Amtec; Global Training Solutions Inc.; Workforce Solutions Group (St. Louis Community College); University of California - Irvine Extension; and Pearson Learning Solutions.
