ML1530 - Working in Healthcare

Students examine the concepts of working in healthcare.  Historical aspects of the Canadian Health Care System and recent changes to the system are explored.  The significance of these changes to the citizens of Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador, and to the roles of managees in the field will be considered.  Areas to be addressed include:  management and employee decision making; integration of roles; motivation and job satisfaction; accepting and coping with change; introduction to stress and becoming employed.  Application of these concepts to related work settings provide an employee’s perspective to working in a rapidly changing field.
