The Hospitality Tourism Management program prepares students by focusing on the skills,competencies,
and attitudes necessary to meet the needs of the tourism sector. The program combines practical,theoretical
and experiential learning in College of the North Atlantic’s facilities, and through field trips and work
term placement.
The first year of the program focuses on the core skills and characteristics of the accommodations
and food and beverage industries of the tourism sector. In addition, students will complete a six-week work term
that will provide valuable work experience and knowledge of what is required to successfully compete in this sector.
Students may exit after successful completion of the first year with a Certificate in Hospitality Services.
Year two provides strong emphasis on supervisory and management skills. Upon successful completion of the
entire program students will graduate with a Diploma of Tourism and Natural Resources in Hospitality Tourism Management.
