Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for job seekers, employers, and members of the public, providing timely assistance and support by responding to telephone, email, and in-person inquiries and helping clients navigate employment services and resources available through the Employment Resource Centre in St. John's.
- Perform a variety of administrative duties to support the effective day-to-day operation of the Employment Resource Centre, including maintaining office supplies, organizing resources, and ensuring the reception area and client spaces are well maintained.
- Conduct preliminary client assessments to determine eligibility for available services, identify individual needs, and direct clients to the appropriate level of service or resources.
- Provide information and guidance on job search strategies, employment programs, career resources, training opportunities, and other services available to support clients in achieving their employment goals.
- Assist clients in accessing and effectively using self-service resources, including job boards, computers, online employment services, application forms, and other digital tools.
- Research, collect, update, and maintain current labour market information from a variety of reliable sources to ensure relevant employment and labour market data is readily available to clients and staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files, records, statistics, and reports in accordance with established procedures and applicable privacy and information management requirements, including ATIPPA regulations.
- Monitor and maintain employment resource materials and information to ensure resources available to clients are current, accurate, and relevant.
- Perform other related duties as required to support the efficient and effective operation of the Employment Resource Centre.
Screening Criteria
- Diploma in Office Administration (equivalencies will be considered).
- Recent, relevant experience in a similar administrative role, providing front-line support to clients or the public.

Conditions of Offer
- When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.
- Verification of credentials and applicable licenses, certifications, and/or professional memberships as required for the position.
Conditions of Acceptance
As this is a client-facing position that requires daily interaction with clients and the provision of in-person assistance and support, the position is not eligible for a telework arrangement. The successful candidate will be required to work on-site at the Employment Options office, Kenmount Road, on a daily basis.
