College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q) hosted several members of the Senior Leadership team from College of the North Atlantic (CNA) in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, home of the college’s academic partner.

Over several days, talks focussed on the importance of quality assurance for the technical education offered at CNA-Q and the role of the Canadian partner, CNA, as the college moves forward as a national college under Qatari leadership. Senior representatives from CNA met with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education negotiating teams, spearheaded by CNA-Q’s new president Prof. Khalifa Al Khalifa.
 
“For the past 17 years, College of the North Atlantic has been a founding partner of this college, providing the quality Canadian-based education that has transformed the technical and vocational education landscape of Qatar,” said Prof. Khalifa Al Khalifa.
 
“I am pleased to report that negotiations are headed in a positive direction, and I am confident that a new agreement will be signed. I am delighted that the outlook is excellent for CNA to continue as our key academic partner for many years to come.”

The College was founded from the vision of Her Highness Skeikha Moza bin Nasser to bring the best applied technical training through specialized classrooms and laboratories by the world’s best instructors. After a global search, CNA in Canada was selected as the founding partner of CNA-Q, bringing over 50 years of educational experience to the State.

This year marks the 17th year that CNA-Q has been providing high-quality experiential technical education in Qatar to support the State’s strategic vision to educate, develop and retain the young workforce in Qatar. The progress of the college has been remarkable since its inception in 2002, with 2,500 students now enrolled this academic year. With over 30 programs offered in Business Studies, Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades, Health Sciences and Information Technology, the college has educated thousands of graduates who have populated the workforce in Qatar or pursued further education.
