College of the North Atlantic’s Qatar Project Office is being recognized with four international MarCom Awards recognizing outstanding creative achievement.

College of the North Atlantic’s (CNA) Qatar Project Office (QPO) has been recognized by the 2011 MarCom Awards – an international competition sponsored by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals, honouring excellence in marketing and communications.

The QPO was acknowledged in four categories for its work in marketing and communications activities that promote CNA’s international campus in Qatar throughout Canada. The department garnered gold for the redesign of the department’s web pages in the Website Interior category, gold for its Living in Qatar and Working in Qatar pop up banners in the Ads/Banner/Sign category, gold for feature story, When cultures connect: The story of College of the North Atlantic in Qatar in the Magazine Placement category (Oil and Gas Magazine) and an honourable mention for the same, full-length feature story posted to CNA’s website.

The MarCom competition has grown to one of the largest of its kind in the world with some 5,000 entries per year – this year the competition was particularly rigorous with some 6,000 entries received from the United States, Canada and several other countries. Winners range in size from individuals to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies; other gold winners this year include the United States Air Force, Agriculture and Agrifood Canada, Athabasca University, ESPN, Princeton University, Siemens, and Texas A&M University.

Greg Chaytor, VP for the Qatar Project, says the awards reflect the level of expertise at CNA and the people who have worked together in making College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q) a success.

“CNA-Q is approaching its 10th year of providing quality, industry-responsive education to the work force of the Middle East,” says Chaytor, “and this acknowledgement of our branding and communications in such stellar company is a testament to the work being done at CNA in Newfoundland and Labrador and in Qatar.”
