The Provincial Government today announced the appointment of Dr. William Radford as President of College of the North Atlantic (CNA), replacing Elizabeth Kidd who had served in an acting capacity. Ms. Kidd returns to her position as Vice President, Corporate Services.
The appointment was recommended through the Independent Appointments Commission.
Dr. Radford’s biographical information is provided in the backgrounder below.
The Independent Appointments Commission was established to create a merit-based process for appointments to agencies, boards and commissions to ensure the process for appointing individuals to agencies, boards and commissions is open and transparent.
In The Way Forward, the Provincial Government committed to modernizing CNA so its network of campuses throughout the province can better serve as economic generators and community hubs to support entrepreneurship, innovation, research, and development. As part of that process, CNA was tasked to conduct an uncompromising review of its operations to identify critical issues and future opportunities.
“Dr. Radford brings a wealth of skills and experience to the position of President, and I expect he will continue the work of implementing the College of the North Atlantic’s Modernization Plan. I also extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Kidd for her dedicated service and leadership.”
