ST. JOHN’S, NL – If you’ve been trying to decide what career path to take, or are interested in seeing what College of the North Atlantic (CNA) has to offer, now is your chance!

On Wednesday, March 13, CNA’s 17 campuses throughout Newfoundland and Labrador are opening their doors to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and staff is poised to show you around and answer any questions you may have.

This event is designed to get students “career ready,” and let them see and experience for themselves the college’s hands-on learning environment. CNA welcomes families and friends to take a campus tour, talk to the instructors about programs, and meet current students.

“At CNA, it’s more than an education; it’s an experience!” said Elizabeth Chaulk, CNA’s Vice President of Student Engagement. “From creating lifelong friendships and gaining real-life industry experiences to making a difference in the community, we strive to help connect you with your dream career. Join our open house at any of our 17 campuses; meet our people, see our new spaces, and learn how we can support you on your journey.”

Students who have already applied are also welcome to learn more about their programs and about student life at CNA. Most of all, the public is encouraged to ask questions about housing options, the application process, books, financial aid, awards and scholarships, campus food options, and class sizes.

Chaulk says people should feel free to drop in to gain more insight about their educational and career choices, and discover why the student experience comes first at CNA. Here are some examples of what visitors can expect:
  • Learn about full-time, part-time and Distributed Learning (online) programs;
  • Take student-led tours of the campuses;
  • Attend program information sessions hosted by faculty;
  • Tour residences (available at Bay St. George, Burin and Happy Valley-Goose Bay campuses) and learn about housing options, student services, financial aid; and,
  • Learn about academic upgrading services on campus and how to receive credit for prior work or academic experience.
