John Miller

Cartographic Technician
College of the North Atlantic's Prince Philip Drive Campus

John started with the Office of Applied Research and Innovation in 2022 as an intern and has since moved into a new role as a Cartographic Technician. He has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Geography from Memorial University, an advanced diploma in Integrated Coastal and Oceans Management from the Fisheries & Marine Institute, and a post-diploma in GIS Applications Specialist from CNA.

John’s roles include data collection, processing, analysis, visualization, and web app design. He works closely with OARI’s researchers and work-term students supporting applied research initiatives and students capstone projects. His current interests include visualizing geospatial data using Extended Realities, such as virtual and augmented realities.
