Salary Information

CG28 - $48,029.80 - $53,180.40 per annum.  

Duties and Responsibilities

The Administrative Officer is a senior clerical position that provides essential support to the Director and team at the Centre for Teaching and Learning Innovation (CTLI). This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient operation of the Centre by delivering comprehensive administrative and program support, maintaining records and documentation, assisting with budget-related tasks, and contributing to the coordination of planning activities and events:

  • Deliver comprehensive administrative support to the Centre for Teaching and Learning Innovation (CTLI) team.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of the Adult Learning & Teaching Initiative (ALTI).
  • Monitor and manage operational data to support the Centre's day-to-day activities.
  • Provide support in organizing events and faculty development initiatives.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and collect all necessary supporting documentation.
  • Participate in the development of proposals and funding applications.
  • Support budget preparation, procurement activities, and expense monitoring.
  • Utilize various technologies and applications to support the work and documentation of the Centre. 
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end reports and financial reconciliations.
  • Manage and maintain confidential records and personnel files in an organized and secure manner.
  • Oversee attendance tracking and administer petty cash management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Screening Criteria

  • A Diploma in Office, or Business, Administration (equivalencies will be considered).
  • Experience providing support in the coordination or delivery of programs, services, or activities.
  • Completion of courses in post-secondary teaching (ie. Adult Learning & Teaching Innovation program) - (asset).

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of administrative practices, including records management, file organization, and confidential information handling.
  • Knowledge of a range of technologies and applications, with a readiness to learn and adapt to new tools.
  • Coordination skills including event and travel planning.
  • Ability to exchange information effectively. 
  • Ability to manage time and tasks.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Relationship building.
