Salary Information
CG26 - $45,554.60 - $50,414.00 per annum.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Clerk Typist III at the Happy Valley-Goose Bay Campus provides a broad range of administrative support for the efficient operation of the Admissions, Customized and Continuous Learning, and Student Services divisions. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Customer service and Inquiries: serve as a first point of contact for students, staff, and the public by responding inquiries in person, by phone, or email, and provide accurate information on admissions, programs, services, and campus procedures.
- Administrative & Secretarial Support: provide clerical support such as drafting correspondence, preparing reports, scheduling, and handling communications.
- Data entry: utilize various software applications (including PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office, and other database systems) for data input, word processing, spreadsheets, and document preparation.
- Student records and file management: maintain accurate student files, both in physical and electronic formats, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with institutional policies.
- Application and registration processing: receive, review, and process applications for admission; register students into appropriate programs and courses; and ensure all required documentation is collected and verified.
- Academic records and reporting: enter student grades into the PeopleSoft system; compile, verify, and distribute academic reports; and prepare official documents such as transcripts, certificates, and confirmation letters.
- Financial documentation: prepare sponsor letters for students, create invoice requests, and process student loan certificates in accordance with College and government guidelines.
- Other related duties: perform additional administrative functions as required to support the efficient operation of the campus.
Screening Criteria
- Diploma in Office Administration (equivalencies will be considered).
- Relevant experience in a similar role providing administrative support.
Assessment Criteria
- Knowledge of general administrative support functions.
- Knowledge of computer applications and software packages.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft (asset).
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to manage time and tasks effectively.
