Salary Information

Salary will be determined in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, based on the candidate's education and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver, and assess provincial mental health and wellness programs and/or initiatives for the college community.
  • Create and deliver innovative support services that encourage the success of students by utilizing a variety of technologies.
  • Provide guidance and counselling services to CNA students, including individual, career, and group counselling.
  • Liaise with staff and administration on behalf of students through committees and on an individual basis.
  • Work with counselling teams at other CNA campuses to support students.
  • Support academic advising and peer tutoring.
  • Deliver student support courses such as job search training, study skills and related activities using distance technologies.
  • Provide support (e.g., crisis intervention) as needed in coordination with the college’s emergency response team.
  • Other related duties as required.

Screening Criteria

  • Master’s Degree in Education with a major in Educational Psychology or Counselling (or equivalent).
  • Recent and relevant work experience.

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of current counselling interventions and strategies.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and practices.
  • Proficiency in web-based learning technologies (ie: video conferencing, webinars, online chat etc.).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Conflict mediation and resolution skills.
  • Ability to exchange information effectively.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks.
  • Ability to work as part of collaborative team while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships in a teaching environment.
  • Commitment to student success strategies and initiatives.

Conditions of Offer

  • When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.

    • Credentials obtained outside of Canada will require an evaluation to determine their Canadian educational equivalency. This evaluation must support the educational requirements for the position.
