Duties and Responsibilities
The Clerk III is responsible for providing professional, accurate, and efficient cashiering and financial support services within College of the North Atlantic:
- Processing payments: receive, verify, and record a variety of payments-including corporate transactions and student loan disbursements-ensuring all funds are handled and processed accurately in accordance with established financial policies and procedures.
- Banking and reconciliation: prepare and balance daily bank deposits, reconcile payment records, and process cashier interfaces to the financial system. Ensure transactions are properly coded and recorded.
- Refunds and cheque distribution: process and issue student and vendor refunds, print and verify all accounts payable cheques for Headquarters, and prepare, transmit, and reconcile EFT and ACH payment reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial procedures.
- Petty cash administration: manage the petty cash fund for Headquarters, ensuring appropriate disbursement, documentation and reconciliation of funds. Monitor balances and replenish as necessary.
- Customer service: respond to inquiries from campuses, students, and vendors regarding payments, refunds, or other cashiering-related matters.
- General administrative support: maintain accurate records, filing systems, and reports related to cashiering activities.
- Perform other duties as required to support cashiering and financial operations.
Screening Criteria
- Diploma in Office Administration (equivalencies will be considered).
- Experience providing a range of administrative support services in an office environment.
Assessment Criteria
- Knowledge of general administrative practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of practices in accounting and cash control - asset.
- Knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Office)
