Salary Information

NUNM42 - $76,385.40 - $89,999.00 per annum

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain security strategies for network and system architecture.
  • Configure, manage, and enhance enterprise-level network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, switches, and related security controls.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery readiness of network systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies to protect network and assets.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for security and performance improvements.
  • Lead and provide senior technical expertise on network security initiatives and infrastructure modernization projects. 
  • Provide advice and recommendations to management and stakeholders on network security architecture.
  • Support and participate in network-related security incidence response activities, including analysis, containment, remediation, and documentation.
  • Contribute to business resiliency and continuity planning, as part of the business resiliency/recovery team.
  • Responsible for the configuration and management of a secure, highly available, enterprise-level network infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance and diagnose issues for potential security risks or performance enhancements to minimize infrastructure downtime.
  • Ensure that all changes affecting network architecture are carefully planned, tested, and documented prior to implementation.
  • Support the implementation of network-related security controls and participate in addressing security incidents as identified by monitoring systems or escalating through the service desk.
  • Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices in security and infrastructure.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Screening Criteria

  • Diploma in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (equivalencies will be considered). 
  • Experience leading or acting as senior technical lead or resource on network security initiatives or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in enterprise-level network administration, including secure network architecture and design.
  • Professional security certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent) is considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of secure network architecture, concepts, and configuration.
  • Knowledge of network-related security controls and information security practices.
  • Knowledge of incident response processes related to network security.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve security issues.
  • Ability to assess risk and recommend mitigation strategies.
