Salary Information

CG33 - $57,093.40 to $63,499.80 per annum. 

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Student Development Officer, you will help empower at-risk youth by delivering career exploration activities, strengthening community and employer partnerships, and supporting the effective planning and delivery of the Reboot Plus program:

  • Support program planning and delivery: work with the Reboot Plus Program Instructor to plan and deliver program activities and help adjust content to meet the needs of diverse participants and support their success.
  • Deliver career exploration activities: lead career-interest sessions and provide one-on-one coaching to at-risk youth to help them explore options, set goals, and build confidence in pursuing education and employment.
  • Build and maintain community partnerships: build and maintain partnerships with employers, schools, and community organizations, and help update the Reboot Plus employer and partner database.
  • Coordinate employer engagement: connect students with professionals and employers through guest talks, mentorship, mock interviews, and workplace visits to support real-world learning.
  • Promote the program externally: promote the Reboot Plus program to employers, professional groups, and community organizations through outreach and presentations.
  • Guide students in educational pathways: provide one-on-one guidance to help students explore education and training options, access supports, and succeed academically.
  • Utilize professional networks: use professional networks to connect with employers and community partners and promote the Reboot Plus program.
  • Carry out other tasks as needed to support the program, help students succeed, and advance the Reboot Plus initiative.

Screening Criteria

  • Diploma in Business Administration, or related field (equivalencies will be considered).
  • Recent, relevant experience in networking and community outreach.
  • Experience working with students - (asset).

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of educational supports for diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of designing and delivering effective presentations.
  • Knowledge of career development activities - asset.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and online/virtual platforms. 
  • Ability to exchange information effectively. 
  • Ability to manage time and tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Professionalism.
  • Relationship building.
