Salary Information

CG33 - $57,093.40 - $63,499.80 per annum

Duties and Responsibilities

Work-term coordination and student readiness: 

  • Guide students through the co-operative (co-op) education process and help students find and secure placements that meet their program's graduation requirements. 
  • Check in regularly with students during their placements to support their success and help solve any issues that come up.

Employer engagement and partnership development: 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers in various industries to create work-term opportunities for students.
  • Actively promote CNA programs and students to potential employers through networking, site visits, and employer engagement initiatives.
  • Work with industry partners to ensure work placements match what students need to learn and meet industry standards.

Job readiness training: 

  • Develop and deliver workshops and training sessions on topics such as resume writing, interview skills, job search strategies, workplace professionalism, and labour market trends.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to students on career planning, professional etiquette, and workplace expectations.
  • Organize and participate in career fairs, employer information sessions, and networking events to help students meet employers and industry professionals.

Administrative responsibilities: 

  • Keep accurate records of student placements, employer contacts, and evaluation reports.
  • Provide guidance on student aid programs, student services policies, and other co-op-related regulations.
  • Act as a resource for students navigating the co-op placement process, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive learning experience.

Travel and regional outreach: 

  • Regularly to meet with employers, attend industry events, and conduct site/employer visits. 

Perform other related duties as needed.

Screening Criteria

  • Diploma in Business Administration, or related field (equivalencies will be considered).
  • Experience in career development activities.

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of career development activities and practices.
  • Knowledge of current labour market trends.
  • Networking and relationship building skills.
  • Organizational and coordination abilities to manage tasks, resources, and timelines effectively.
  • Ability to effectively exchange information.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks effectively.

Conditions of Offer

  • When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided. 

Conditions of Acceptance

  • Ability to travel within the region regularly to meet with employers, attend industry events, and conduct site/employer visits. Access to reliable transportation suitable to meet operational requirements will be required.
