Salary Information
CG26 - $45,554.60 - $50,414.00 per annum.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position is an evening position (3-11) responsible for addressing the readiness of the Prince Philip Drive Campus and the requirement to refurbish large areas of the facility through:
- Preparing surfaces for applying paint, stain and other finishes by washing; scraping; sandblasting; sanding, and priming.
- Erects barriers for dust and contamination control.
- Mixing and matching paints, varnishes, epoxies and stains in preparation for application on walls, ceilings, doors, cabinets, etc.
- Applying paint with brushes, rollers, sponges, cloths and spray guns.
- Mixing, applying and smoothing plaster on walls, ceilings and patch holes in walls and concrete floors. Installs dry wall corners.
- Appling vinyl and paper wall coverings, rubber baseboards and may glaze windows.
- Operates and maintains a variety of tools such as a paint sprayer and mixer, sander, grinder, drills and rotary tools.
- Erecting scaffolding for interior and exterior work.
- Preparing material lists.
- Maintaining inventory to ensure required materials and tools are in stock to complete all jobs.
- Ensuring proper storage of hazardous materials.
- Cleaning brushes, rollers, spray guns, trowels and other equipment used in the painting and plastering process.
- Coordinating work activities with other trades workers.
- Completing work orders.
- Meeting with contractors to discuss job requirements.
- Reviewing blueprints to determine quantity of materials required.
- Moving furniture and equipment.
- Removing blinds and curtains.
- May provide technical advice to other painters/plasterers.
Screening Criteria
- Diploma in Painting and Decorating (with Plastering).
- Experience plastering and painting.
- Equivalencies will be considered.

Conditions of Offer

Conditions of Acceptance
- The demands of the job results in considerable fatigue, requiring periods of rest. Regularly required to lift or move objects 25 to 50 lbs.. such as buckets of paint or boxes of plaster; moving furniture.
- Work involves standing and walking constantly in the performance of daily activities including climbing ladders, scaffolds and stairs; as well as bending, kneeling, crawling and stretching when plastering; painting walls, baseboards, ceilings and working in confined spaces.
