Salary Information

CG29 - $50,250.20 - $55,819.40 per annum.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day provincial accounting duties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processing.
  • Support scholarship and bursary financial processes, including disbursement and approving accounts.
  • Process and track wire transfers and electronic funds transfers.
  • Monitor financial activity and provide basic financial analysis to assist with decision-making.
  • Review and analyze financial accounts, identify trends or irregularities, and recommend corrections as needed.
  • Prepare monthly cash and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Review and post journal entries.
  • Prepare quarterly financial reports and submit them on time to meet funding requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide financial reports and support to managers, directors, and auditors.
  • Perform other duties as required within the scope of the position.

Screening Criteria

  • Diploma in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting (equivalencies will be considered).
  • Recent, relevant experience in an accounting or an accounting-related environment, with demonstrated involvement in accounting functions.

  • Knowledge of accounting systems and software, including spreadsheet applications.
