The Employment Services Manager is responsible for the front-line management, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation within the Employment Services Division of College of the North Atlantic:

  • Service delivery management: oversee the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of employment and career services to meet diverse needs of clients; and develop and implement strategies for early identification and referral of targeted client groups to appropriate services. 
  • Human resources-related practices and staff supervision: provide direct supervisory support to staff, including coaching, performance feedback, and training; lead and engage staff in creating a client-focused, service-oriented environment that prioritizes excellence in service delivery; and encourage innovation and team approach to problem-solving, fostering a positive, supportive, and creating work environment.
  • Stakeholder and community engagement: establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, employers, government agencies, and community organization to improve service coordination; collaborate with the Director and Government representatives to ensure program integration, alignment with policies, and continuous service enhancement; and identify gaps and barriers in employment services, recommending policy and service delivery improvements to enhance accessibility and effectiveness.
  • Process development and improvement: evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for streamlining service delivery and reducing barriers to employment; and contribute to policy development to improve employment service delivery models.   

Screening Criteria

  • A degree in Business, Social Sciences, or related field (equivalencies will be considered).
  • Experience with client service delivery practices.
  • Experience with career development functions.
  • Supervisory experience and/or experience coaching/mentoring others. 

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of client service delivery models, strategies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of employment services and career counselling functions, including labour market trends.
  • Ability to effectively exchange information.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Client-service oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize workload while meeting established deadlines.
  • Professionalism.
  • Relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Conditions of Offer

  • When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.

Conditions of Acceptance

  • Occasional travel to other offices within the province may be required.
  • This position will be required on site at the Grand Falls-Windsor office. A remote work arrangement is not available at this time.
