Duties and Responsibilities

The Clerk Typist III provides comprehensive administrative and front-line support within Student Services at College of the North Atlantic's Prince Philip Drive campus, ensuring the efficient delivery of services to students, staff, and faculty:

  • Provide front-line reception and information services by responding to inquiries from students, staff, and the public, and directing individuals to appropriate resources and services as required.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support through the preparation of correspondence, reports, schedules, and other documentation, while coordinating communications and maintaining efficient office operations.
  • Utilize a variety of software applications, including PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office Suite, and other database systems, to maintain records, perform data entry, prepare documents, and generate reports and spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate the administrative functions of First Aid training and certification activities, including scheduling, registration, record maintenance, and the accurate processing of student results and certifications.
  • Administer student locker services by coordinating assignments, maintaining records and inventories, addressing inquiries, and overseeing locker access and returns.
  • Coordinate the student identification card process, including collecting and verifying student information, producing and distributing photo identification cards, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the integrity of related student data.
  • Prepare, process, and monitor requisitions and related documentation in accordance with College policies and procedures, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of procurement transactions.
  • Provide backup support to Student Services operations during peak periods and staff absences, assisting with registration, records, examinations, admissions processes, and other student support functions as required.
  • Perform other related administrative and clerical duties as required to support the effective operation of Student Services and the campus.

Screening Criteria

  • Diploma in Office Administration (equivalencies will be considered). 
  • Recent, relevant experience delivering front-line administrative and clerical support services.

Assessment Criteria

  • Knowledge of general administrative administrative/clerical functions.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
