College of the North Atlantic (CNA) is pleased to announce the Fry Family Foundation Scholarships. These scholarships – the largest scholarship donation in the college’s history – will benefit one student from every CNA campus. Valued at $135, 000 over five years, close to 100 students from all regions of Newfoundland and Labrador will receive scholarships designed to reward their leadership abilities, academic success and ambition.

“We are delighted to partner with College of the North Atlantic in reaching out to students all across the province,” says Frank Fry, the foundation’s executive director.

“The Fry Family Foundation believes that one of the best things happening here in Newfoundland and Labrador is that we are developing a highly educated workforce. College of the North Atlantic is an excellent example of how we do that,” he says.

Al Goss, Chair, Board of Governors, CNA, is equally pleased with these new scholarships and says, “The impact these scholarships will have on students, their families, their communities and our campuses is tremendous. We are especially pleased that the Fry Family Foundation has established these leadership scholarships to help foster leadership and sustainability within all regions of our province. A student at each campus, who has best demonstrated leadership ability and academic excellence, will be identified and those skills will be nurtured over their time at CNA.”

One of the most remarkable aspects of the Fry Family Foundation is the long-term investment they make to each student recipient. They want to get to know these students and help them as they grow during their time at CNA. When students complete their program, they will have benefited not only financially, but from the confidence in knowing that this family has taken an interest and has invested in their future.

Scholarships will be awarded for the first time this year to a first-year student at each campus.

College of the North Atlantic, Newfoundland and Labrador’s public college, is one of the largest post-secondary and skills training centres in Canada, offering more than 100 full-time programs and over 300 part-time courses. For more information visit: www.cna.nl.ca.
