4.jpg Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) are an important professional group in the delivery of care to older adults living in their homes and in public / private nursing homes. PCAs provide support to a variety of clients in all aspects of daily living. The annual starting salary for a PCA is currently $38,181 ($19.58/hour).
The PCA program only takes 30 weeks to complete! The College of the North Atlantic is currently accepting applications for the Personal Care Attendant Program starting in September in Carbonear, Clarenville, Corner Brook, Grand Falls-Windsor,  Happy Valley-Goose Bay and St. John’s. PCA Bursary

The Province of Newfoundland and Labrador provides a PCA Bursary Program for students enrolled in the 30-week Home Support Worker/Personal Care Attendant program. The program provides up to a $5,000 bursary to selected students, which covers the education program costs.  For more information visit the Department of Health and Community Services website.
