The Hazardous Areas Equipment Recurrent two (2) day refresher course provides designated personnel with the theory and principles used to protect electrical equipment in hazardous areas and in the design of electrical systems for use in hazardous areas. It covers electrical equipment in a potentially explosive environment giving a better understanding of the relevant standards, the code rules and general engineering practices relevant to these hazardous area locations. The appropriate locally applicable standards, certifications, and rulings are referred to when making decisions regarding hazardous area equipment and practices. This 5-day course is designed to increase the competence, to nationally accepted levels, of personnel carrying out installations, inspections and maintenance of electrical apparatus in explosive gas atmospheres. It is mandatory for electrical personnel working in the offshore industry. 35 Hours Total (Course Hours - 28, Lab Hours - 07)

This course is designed to familiarize participants with the hazardous area requirements of Section 18 of the 2024 Canadian Electrical Code. It covers equipment and cable related portions of the 2021 Canadian electrical code, as well as the use of modular cable transits. (8 Hours)

This environmental awareness training program, based on Environment Canada's "Code of Practice for Elimination of Fluorocarbon Emissions in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems", deals with environmentally-correct equipment design, proper handling of refrigerants, and will prepare participants for complying with Federal and Provincial Regulations covering refrigeration and air condition systems.
