Course Overview:
This Hobby Welding course introduces participants to the methods, materials, equipment, and safety procedures necessary to build their own welded projects. Throughout the course safe and proper use of equipment is stressed, as participants will learn about the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), the welding machines for SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW and the associated hand tools commonly used during welding.
By the end of the course, participants will learn skills and techniques necessary to build their own projects at home. Participants will have the chance to learn by observing each other and through their own practical application. This approach not only accommodates individual preferences but also enriches the learning experience by exposing students to multiple processes.
The students will also be given the option to build a predesigned project from a set of ready-made designs provided by the college. (40 Hours) (Lecture 10/Lab 20)
