How to Apply to CNA

International students can apply online, by email, or by mail. Follow the simple steps below to begin your journey at College of the North Atlantic.

Additional documents such as official transcripts and certificates must be mailed to the above address.

Documents Required

Please include the following with your application:

  • Completed application form (unless submitted online)
  • Application fee (non-refundable)
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Official academic transcripts issued directly from the originating institution
  • Certified copies (notarized) of official academic transcripts if applying through any of the College's approved agents
  • Official English translations of non-English academic documents
Note: If official transcripts or degree certificates are issued in a language other than English, you must provide both the original documents and an official English translation. The translation must be a precise version of the original and completed by either the issuing institution or a certified professional translator.

Letter of Acceptance

Once we have received your application, and all required documents, it will be reviewed for eligibility and, if accepted, a Letter of Acceptance will be issued to the student.

Information confirming fees, enrollment, program of study and length of program will accompany the Letter of Acceptance.

Upon receipt of the Letter of Acceptance, the confirmation fee and tuition for the first semester of the program is due to the College.

Study Permit / Student Visa

It may take 1-9 weeks to receive a student study permit / student visa in order to travel to and study in Canada. You will need your letter of acceptance in order to qualify.

Please check current processing times on the Government of Canada website and plan accordingly.

Note: If you're studying online via a Distributed Learning program from your home country, this step is not required.

When You Need a Visa

If you're coming to Canada for in-person study, a valid study permit or student visa is required before travel.

Bring your Letter of Acceptance to your nearest Canadian Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate to apply. Immigration officers will guide you through the process.

What You'll Need
  • Valid passport or personal ID
  • Letter of Acceptance from CNA
  • Proof of financial support available to cover tuition and living expenses
  • Intent to return to your home country
After Your Visa is Approved

Once you receive your study permit or visa:

  • Notify CNA immediately
  • Make travel arrangements
  • Prepare to begin your program with CNA
If Your Application Is Denied

Provide a letter from the Canadian Embassy explaining the refusal, along with evidence to support this claim.

Refund Policy: Your tuition will be refunded in full, excluding the non-refundable application and confirmation fees.

Proof of Status

Proof of legal status in Canada must be submitted before the first day of classes.

The Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPP Act 2015) restricts the release of personal information without the informed consent of the person to whom it relates.

Once accepted, students who wish to have specific personal information released to a funding agency must complete this form, sign it and bring it to their campus of application. The form may also be mailed or faxed in.
