About

College of the North Atlantic, Carbonear campus, is located on the east coast of Newfoundland and Labrador. The current population is approximately 4,800 residents and is located on the Avalon Peninsula, approximately an hour outside of the capital city of St. John’s. Residents of the town have close access to health care facilities, secondary and post-secondary schools, shopping, restaurants, and a Recreational Complex (swimming pool, track, tennis courts).  Carbonear experiences mild and wet winters; summers are warm and moist and typically are shorter than other provinces in Canada. Temperatures can reach 30 degree Celsius in the summer and lows of minus 15 degrees in the winter.

The campus is located in the downtown historical district which features restaurants and eateries, grocery shopping, retail outlets, boutique shopping, post-secondary schools, and a public library. The campus is situated alongside Carbonear Pond and is a short walk to beautiful outdoor activities including the George W. Earle Promenade and Nell’s Walking Trail as well as historical structures such as the Railway Station Museum, the Old Post Office Building, and the Rorke Premises.

Welcome to College of the North Atlantic (CNA), Carbonear! My name is Robyn Frampton and I’m the Student Development Officer (SDO) at our campus. I’m part of our Student Services Team, which includes the Admissions Officer, Accessibility Services Co-ordinator, Computer Support Specialist Guidance Counsellor, Librarian and Library Technician, Resource Facilitator, and Storekeeper.

We know that starting something new and unfamiliar may be intimidating at first, and you will most likely have many questions. Whether you’re starting college for the first time or racing to the finish line, our staff and faculty are here to offer you support along the way! At CNA, we want to ensure that your experience is memorable and unique as we work together to help inspire, encourage, and support you in your studies.
