College of the North Atlantic, Carbonear campus, is located on the east coast of Newfoundland and Labrador. The current population is approximately 4,800 residents and is located on the Avalon Peninsula, approximately an hour outside of the capital city of St. John’s. Residents of the town have close access to health care facilities, secondary and post-secondary schools, shopping, restaurants, and a Recreational Complex (swimming pool, track, tennis courts).  Carbonear experiences mild and wet winters; summers are warm and moist and typically are shorter than other provinces in Canada. The campus is situated alongside Carbonear Pond and is a short walk to beautiful outdoor activities including the George W. Earle Promenade and Nell’s Walking Trail as well as historical structures such as the Railway Station Museum, the Old Post Office Building, and the Rorke Premises.
