Terry Murphy, Campus Director, Carbonear Campus
Brian Tobin, Associate Vice-President, Campus Operations, is pleased to announce that Dr. Terry Murphy has accepted the position of Campus Director for the Carbonear campus. Terry’s appointment to this role will commence after the current intersession.
Terry brings significant leadership experience to the role of Campus Director, having served as Instructional Coordinator in Carbonear for the past five years and Applied Arts representative on Academic Council. Terry has been an instructor in the CAS Transfer and Community Studies program at Carbonear campus since 1995, teaching both sociology and social sciences.
Terry is an active volunteer in the Conception Bay North region, having served on various boards and organizations dealing with victim services, supported employment for persons with disabilities as well as The Association for New Canadians. Terry has a M.A. in the Sociology of Higher Education and a Ph.D. specializing in mental health and addiction and is also a certified Master Instructor in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention with the Crisis Prevention Institute and a Master Instructor in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. In addition to his teaching and research, Terry has offered workshops and training related to the areas of mental health, addictions, conflict resolution and personal safety.
