Class is officially back in session at College of the North Atlantic (CNA). Students are returning to classrooms, labs and shops at campuses across Newfoundland and Labrador, while others begin their studies online from communities near and far.
Elizabeth Winney, CNA’s President and CEO, said the first week of the fall semester is always one of the most exciting moments of the year.
“Whether students are new to CNA or returning to continue their studies, we are thrilled to welcome them into our college community,” she said.
“Our role is to provide more than technical training and hands-on experience. We are here to help students build their future right here at home, or wherever their ambitions may lead, in an environment where every voice matters and possibilities are endless.”
With programs ranging from skilled trades and information technology to health sciences, business and creative arts, CNA students are preparing for meaningful careers in industries that power the province and beyond.
Jeff Martin, CNA’s Director of Student Experience, said students never have to figure out college life alone. Speaking directly to students arriving for the first week of the fall semester, he encouraged them to explore the many services and supports available to them throughout the semester.
“Our Student Services team, faculty and staff are here to support you, whether you need academic guidance, personal support, or someone to help you find your next opportunity,” he advised, inviting them to get involved in their local Student Representative Council and the CNA Student Union to help shape campus life and build leadership skills.
“We want to celebrate your achievements with you and help you overcome any challenges that arise along the way,” he added.
To stay connected, students can access key resources through
MyCNA, which provides information on timetables, grades, services and supports. Each campus also maintains a
Facebook page with updates on events, activities and important reminders.
As the semester begins, CNA extends its best wishes to students for a successful and memorable year of learning, growth and discovery.
