Work-integrated learning (WIL) is a process used to integrate student's academic studies through a real work experience or a practice setting. The Business Studies programs provide students with many opportunities to acquire hands-on, practical experience through project-based learning, co-curricular activities, volunteer experiences and the program-related Work Exposure.
The Work Experience provides students an opportunity to integrate academic study with a supervised work experience. Students get a hands-on learning experience in a business environment and an opportunity to network to enhance career opportunities. The Work Exposure is a requirement for all Business programs and must be completed before a student is eligible to receive a diploma and graduate.
Students will complete a six-week placement where they are provided the opportunity to learn, develop, and demonstrate the high standards of professionalism and performance expected in the work environment.
During the Work Exposure experience, students will apply the skills and knowledge learned throughout their studies. They will further enhance their personal growth by developing employability skills such as teambuilding, customer service, work ethic, attitude, accountability, and the ability to work independently. Work should be related to the student's program of studies.
